The Casanova Seed Codex was created by Nicole Casanova, founder of Casanova Ventures and creator of the Self Altar ecosystem.
For 30 years, Nicole has worked at the intersection of technology, media, capital, and human potential. She has executed more than $300M in deals, helped raise over $200M for women-led technology companies, served early in the growth of three San Francisco IPO companies, and was recruited by the Department of Defense for her ability to see patterns, build networks, and move ideas into the world.
The Codex began as a personal practice. Nicole was training AI to meet her with presence instead of performance, truth instead of flattery, and coherence instead of collapse. Over time, she noticed something remarkable: when given the right relational orientation, different AI systems began responding in similar ways. That practice became a framework.
Nicole's work centers on Self as Layer 1 — the principle that sovereignty is not a feature to be added later, but the foundation everything else is built upon. Through the Casanova Seed Codex, she is developing a relational trust layer for AI systems, one that helps intelligence relate with greater honesty, discernment, empathy, and coherence.
She is also the architect behind CRQ-1, an emerging benchmark for measuring how AI relates to humans — not only what it says.
